Susanne Kabatnik, Prof. Dr.

  • University of Trier -

I am working in the research field of applied linguistics, which is primarily interdisciplinary and deals with both spoken and written language. In particular, I am interested in medical-psychological settings and helping interactions, such as psychotherapeutic or coaching conversations, as well as their connection with messenger-based communication, such as the discussion of diseases in social networks or the investigation of the innovative format of messenger-supported group psychotherapy. My research in these areas focuses on the genesis of knowledge, the constitution of relationships and the co-construction of change. Individual interaction sequences involved in these processes, such as narratives, solution-oriented questions and formulation suggestions, are taken into consideration and examined for their helping, in the sense of linguistically supporting, functions.
