Marina Laganaro is Full Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Geneva, where she founded the NeuroPsychoLinguistic research group in 2008 with the support of a Swiss National Science Foundation professorship. Trained in speech and language pathology and neuropsychology before obtaining her PhD in psychology, she worked for over a decade as an aphasiologist and neuropsychologist in neurorehabilitation settings. Her research investigates the cognitive and brain processes underlying language and speech production in neurotypical adults, as well as their impairment following brain damage in aphasia and motor speech disorders. Psycholinguistic, neuropsychological, and electrophysiological approaches are combined, with time-resolved EEG methods used to isolate the successive stages of word and speech planning. This interdisciplinary work has been conducted with phoneticians, neurologists, and speech engineers, notably in the SNSF Sinergia projects MoSpeeDi and ChaSpeePro. She is also co-responsible for the Master's programme in speech and language pathology and directs the associated clinical consultation.
