Antoni Rodríguez Fornells is ICREA Research Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona and leads the Cognition and Brain Plasticity Unit, based at the Bellvitge Hospital and the IDIBELL biomedical research institute. He completed his PhD at the University of Barcelona and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Magdeburg before holding a Ramón y Cajal position and joining ICREA. His research centres on language learning, executive functions, and the neural correlates of error and reward monitoring, studied with neuroimaging and electrophysiological methods. The interdisciplinary programme of his group investigates learning processes and brain plasticity in both healthy participants and patients with brain damage, bringing together expertise in brain plasticity, brain development, and learning and memory mechanisms.
